The position requires the performance of daily operations, field staff supervision, contract

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

WORK HOURS & LOCATION

The general assigned work hours are within 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC), a publicly-owned wastewater treatment facility located in Newark, New Jersey, is currently seeking Laboratory Technicians. Created in 1902, PVSC is the 5th largest facility of its kind in the United States, directly serving approximately 1.4 million residents in 48 municipalities located in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties. The 140-acre plant is designed to treat an average of 330 million gallons per day (“mgd”) of wastewater

Position Summary: Performs analytical tests on wastewater samples per NJ State permit requirements. This position reports to the Lab Director or Lab Regulatory Compliance Specialist. The Lab Analyst will conduct various microbiological, wet chemistry and inorganic analyses of wastewater, drinking water and other environmental samples. The
Lab Analyst must have the ability to work flexible shifts, a rotating schedule including weekends, holidays, and night shifts and overtime, as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Calibration, operation, and troubleshooting of basic laboratory equipment. (i.e., pH meters, spectrophotometers,
dissolved oxygen meters).
* The proper operation of composite samplers and collection procedure of samples at various locations in the wastewater treatment plant and various other laboratory client locations.
* Calibration, operation, and troubleshooting of the ion chromatographic systems and atomic absorption
spectrophotometer (flame and furnace).
* Perform various microbiological examinations of drinking water, wastewater and environmental samples. May function as the lead employee in this area.
* Cleaning and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, glassware and equipment.
* Following laboratory SOPs for all analyses, sampling, and data handling.

SCOPE
This is exempt position is salaried and is expected to work a 35-hour work week, typically Monday
through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, with flexible scheduling as determined by the Executive
Director. Some night and weekend hours may be expected less than 5% of the work year.

IN GENERAL, Under direction:
1. Act as primary point of contact for Authority, answering all incoming phone calls and receiving
customers in person at our lobby service window.
2. Investigate and remedy customer account inquiries using Edmunds financial technology and
software.
3. Prepare and mail bills to new accounts and/or homeowners and those with ownership changes.
4. Open and sort incoming mail, directing same to the appropriate department.
5. Receive, sort, batch, and convey incoming physical check payments made via mail and in
person.
6. Ensure world-class quality customer service by providing support to customers, clerical staff,
managers and executives when necessary; and
7. Perform ancillary tasks on an as-needed basis, as deemed appropriate by the management
team.

Staff Engineer Position (9/6/23)
Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority Union Beach, NJ
The Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (BRSA) is seeking candidates for the position of Staff Engineer (Engineer). The Engineer will support the staff with respect to Operational, Maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects of the BRSA, a major regional wastewater treatment facility with offices located in Union Beach, Monmouth County, NJ. The BRSA provides wastewater service to a population of app. 100,000 encompassing the municipalities of Hazlet, Holmdel, Union Beach, Aberdeen, Matawan, Keyport, Keansburg and a portion of Marlboro. Major assets include a 16 MGD treatment plant with fluidized bed incineration, 3 major pump stations, meter chambers and interceptor sewer system.
Job duties include but not limited to writing technical specifications, bid packages, reports, estimates; inspecting and managing construction and sanitary sewer collection system projects; reviewing developer applications; and performing computer applications and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday with the Engineer reporting to the Principal Engineer.
Qualified candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, along with three (3) years’ experience in engineering and/or construction management/inspection and be proficient with Microsoft Office Professional. Must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and hold a valid NJ driver’s License. EIT and previous experience with water/wastewater projects is a plus.

Job Description Scope:
The Executive Director (“ED”) is the chief executive and administrative officer of the
AUTHORITY responsible for the leadership and direct supervision of the AUTHORITY’s
day-to-day operations. The ED is to perform all the ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
mentioned herein and those assigned from time to time by the BOARD. The position
requires the application of executive leadership and team building to support and
ensure the coordination of all areas of AUTHORITY business as a Federal and State
regulated New Jersey Public Water System.
Key Responsibilities Summary:
1. To provide executive leadership to the AUTHORITY, and also be accountable to the
Board of Directors and the Authority’s customers.
2. To ensure that best industry practices are followed in order to provide the highest
quality drinking water in compliance with Federal and State of New Jersey regulations
and AUTHORITY policies and procedures.
3. To be responsible for the operational performance of the AUTHORITY.
4. To assist the BOARD OF MEMBERS (referred to as the “BOARD”) in developing an overall
AUTHORITY strategy and a strategic plan.
5. To advance the vision and mission of the organization and implement the strategic plan
for the AUTHORITY.
6. To provide leadership, direction, and support to Division management in the
implementation of strategic initiatives so that (i) the AUTHORITY’s personnel are made

challenges.
6. Ability to work with the BOARD and Division Managers to effectively develop and
