Staff Engineer (5-29-20)

The Township of Middletown Sewerage Authority (TOMSA) is a public wastewater utility that owns and operates a 10.8 MGD secondary wastewater treatment plant, 300 miles of sanitary sewer mains and 14 pump stations. TOMSA is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Staff Engineer whose responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review of wastewater treatment plant and collection system operations.
  • Develop and institute improvements and programs to increase efficiency. This includes training and preparation of procedures and manuals.
  • Perform technical studies aimed at optimizing the operation of the plant and collection system operations.
  • Work with the Authority’s consulting engineer to coordinate any engineering activities undertaken by the Aut
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies that include but are not limited to theNJ Association of Environmental Authorities, NJ Water Environment Association, FEMA,NJDEP and NJ Infrastructure Bank.
  • Perform in-house engineering on selected projects
  • Coordinate with the Authority’s consultant to maintain and update its GIS system.
  • Prepare and review bid documents and coordinate advertisements and awards
  • Assist with all technical nature issues in the day to day running of the Authority.
  • Respond to emergencies 24 hours a day.
  • Back up to the Executive Director including all managerial functions.

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, along with a minimum of five or more years’ experience in engineering, construction management, utility operations and/or inspection in the water/wastewater field or similar. The candidate must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, multitask and handle multiple priorities and hold a valid NJ Driver’s License. Working knowledge of NJDEP regulations, proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with GIS systems are required.

Candidates with a NJ issued professional engineer license (or the ability to transfer the license to  NJ within one year), NJ issued wastewater operator license(s) (or the ability to transfer the license to  NJ within one year) and/or experience with water/wastewater utility operations are preferred. If the successful candidate does not have a S4 and C4 wastewater operator license, they will be expected to immediately work towards obtaining them.

Laboratory Technician (5-19-20)

Opening for Laboratory Technician position at major wastewater treatment facility in Linden, NJ. Laboratory is NJDEP certified to analyze 25+ parameters. Position will entail analyzing wastewater and sludge samples for inorganic, microbiological, and metals testing.Responsible for conducting analyses according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control protocol, and EPA/Standard Methods protocols. Parameters include Ammonia, BOD, COD, solids, Fecal coliform, Cyanide, Oil & Grease, Phenols, Sulfides, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Chlorine and Metals.Required to operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including troubleshooting and calibration checks.Prepare chemical reagents and solutions and microbiological media for analysis.Preserve and handle samples in accordance to protocol and fill out and maintain chain of custodies. Wastewater Treatment Operator (5-7-20)

The Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority is looking for motivated individuals who are looking for a solid career path and to learn and grow in the field of wastewater. The RVRSA, located in Boonton, N.J., is a 12-mgd wastewater treatment plant that serves ten municipalities in Morris County.

There is currently an opening for a Third Shift Operator working Tuesday – Saturday, 11pm to 7:30am.Duties include, but are not limited to performing various tests; collecting and testing influent, effluent, oxidation ditch &  sludge samples; operation and maintenance of two pump stations and metering stations; flushing scum beaches/hoppers/collectors; scrubbing and hosing tanks; removing rags from grates; operating VFD’s, RAS and WAS equipment; maintaining various record logs; and various other tasks as assigned.

RVRSA is willing to train the right candidate in all aspects of wastewater treatment.  Unlicensed Operators earn a starting salary is $22.85 per hour; with an additional $0.50 per hour for working third shift and an additional $0.25 or $0.75 per hour for Class B and Class A CDL licenses, respectively.

Successful candidates without a NJDEP “S” wastewater treatment license will be required to obtain a New Jersey DEP License S-1 within three (3) years of hire.The successful candidate with current S, C or N licenses will be paid for those licenses in accordance with the IBT Local 125 Contract.

Wastewater Facilities Superintendent (4-30-20)

Wastewater Treatment Operator (4-22-20)

The Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (Authority) is a major regional wastewater treatment facility with offices located in Union Beach, Monmouth County, NJ. The Authority provides wastewater service to a population of app. 90,000 encompassing the municipalities of Hazlet, Holmdel, Union Beach, Aberdeen, Matawan, Keyport, Keansburg and a portion of Marlboro. Major assets include a 16 MGD treatment plant with two fluidized bed incinerators, three pumping stations, eleven meter chambers and fifteen miles of interceptor sewers and force mains.

The Authority has an immediate need for an Operator. The work hours may include shift work, nights, weekends, emergency call outs and overtime. Applicants must possess a valid NJ driver’s license in good standing, high school diploma or GED and a minimum S-1 and/or C-1 NJDEP Operators Licenses. Applicants shall have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Computer skills are required for the position, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Operator Interface Terminals (OIT’s). Lab Manager 3/18/20

Executive Director – Public Water / Sewer Utility (2-19-20)

The Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking candidates for the position of Executive Director. The Authority is a small municipal organization servicing the health and safety of our customers by providing drinking water and sewage treatment. WASTEWATER PLANT ELECTRICIAN (2-18-20)

The Wastewater Plant Electrician reports to the Wastewater Maintenance Foreman. A few of the duties are: preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment for plant and pump stations, maintenance of electrical systems for buildings and grounds, pumps, valves, motors, controls etc., gas and/or electric welding, availability on 24 hour basis, assistance with construction and start-up of new facilities. Industrial Electrical Knowledge and Experience is a must.

Swing Shift Operations and MaintenanceSupervisor (2-10-20)

Operator (2/6/20)

Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Authority is seeking a full-time entry level wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operator.  Responsibilities include operating, monitoring, and maintaining WWTP equipment among other tasks.  The plant operates on a 24-hour rotating shift schedule.  Candidates will be required to complete a 6-month on-the-job training program.  The applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.  Email resume to resume@sbrsa.org.

Director of Water and Sewer (1/31/20)

The City of Trenton in New Jersey is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Water and Sewer.  This is a department director position and the salary for this position is $131,844.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will provide leadership and management for water treatment and water distribution, and for sewage collection, storm water collection and sewage treatment. The candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of and experience with drinking water and sewer regulations, and complex technical issues surrounding the operation, maintenance, and capital improvement of treatment facilities, the distribution system, reservoirs, pump stations, sewers, storm sewers and sewage treatment facilities. The successful candidate will have regular interaction with a wide variety of stakeholders including customers, regulatory agencies, representatives of other jurisdictions, and other City departments. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and perform duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the City.

The successful candidate will be part of the City leadership team and will work with a highly skilled group of professionals. The successful candidate will provide leadership for subordinate staff including planning, organizing, and evaluating work; and ensuring that staff adhere to City policies and procedures. THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND SEWER

The Department of Water and Sewer manages the City’s water system and the City’s sewer system. Organizationally, the Department of Water and Sewer includes a Water Division and a Sewer Division.

The Water Utility provides water service to the City of Trenton and to significant portions of the four surrounding Townships of Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence and Hopewell.

The Water Division includes approximately 150 employees and it has an annual operating budget of about 40 million dollars, and a capital budget in 2019 of 25 million dollars.

The Sewer Division includes 50 employees and it has an annual operating budget of 15 million dollars. The 2019 capital budget is about 1 million dollars.

The capital budgets of both the Water and Sewer divisions are expected to significantly increase over the coming years as various planned infrastructure projects are bonded and implemented.

The water system includes a 60 MGD conventional water treatment plant, a water treatment plant waste mechanical dewatering facility, a 45 MGD booster station, a 3 MGD booster station, a 2 MGD booster station, 100 million gallon ground storage reservoir, 4 one million gallon elevated storage tanks, a 1.4 million gallon standpipe, a 600,000 gallon hydropillar, about 630 miles of water main, about 8,500 valves, about 1000 fire hydrants, about 63,000 metered customer services, and four emergency interconnections with adjacent water utilities.

The sewer system includes a 20 MGD sewage treatment plant, about 180 miles of gravity sewers, about 140 miles of stormwater collection mains, 3600 catch basins, 3000 manholes, and 5 pumping stations.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE OF:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a senior management or executive management position

Laboratory Manager 1/30/20

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC), a publicly-owned wastewater treatment facility located in Newark, New Jersey, iscurrently seeking a Laboratory Manager. Created in 1902, PVSC is the 5th largest facility of its kind in the United States, directly serving approximately 1.5 million residents in 48 municipalities located in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties. The140-acre plant is designed to treat an average of 330 million gallons per day (“mgd”) of wastewater with an annual average flow of approximately 241 mgd.

Position Summary: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring that all systems and procedures are in place to provide compliance assurance, quality assurance and quality control for the New Jersey Permit Discharge Elimination System (NJPDES) andthe New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Quality Assurance (NJAC 7:18). The Laboratory Manager willalso assist the Laboratory Director in coordinating laboratory activities and supervising laboratory staff.

Pump Station Operator (1-19-20)

The Monmouth County Bayshore Outfall Authority (MCBOA) has an immediate opening for pump station operator. Operator III Wastewater Position (1-7-19)

The Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority (RVRSA), located in Morris County, is seeking an individual to fill the position of Operator III Wastewater. The RVRSA serves 10 Morris County communities and operates/maintains one, 12-mgd wastewater facility, 16-miles of gravity sewer including multiple siphons, and two pumping stations. The successful candidate for this position will work in Operations and will work under the direct guidance of the Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Manager both who possess S-4 Wastewater Operator licenses. The essential functions of the position will include, but are not limited to; flushing scum beaches/hoppers/collectors; remove floatables, such as hose tanks; remove debris and rags from various tanks, ditches and collectors; set up and observe composite samplers; skim bi-sulfite mixingtanks, receive chemical deliveries; observe and record chemical feed pump operations; rotate equipment and tanks; operate the grit removal system, service water system, mechanical bar screens, valves, aerators, VFD’s, RAS & WAS pumps, polymer feed system, rotating drum thickeners and odor control; fill sludge hauling truck, and read flow meters and change charts/pens; collect influent, effluent, oxidation ditch and sludge samples; assist other division as assigned and perform other tasks as assigned. Oversees and trains the operational staff, and resolves personnel issues and grievances in accordance with established practices identified in the Union contract.  Assists the Director in the preparation of the annual sewer budget.  Mentors the Assistant Plant Manager. Laboratory Manager Full-Time 11/7/19

Work will include the analysis of various parameters including microbiology, inorganics, and other chemicals.  Knowledge of chemistry and bacteriology and other work involving extensive laboratory analysis, laboratory equipment, reagent and techniques are required.  Applicant must have the ability to organize work, assist the Plant Manager with completion of the Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR), maintain a thorough working knowledge of laboratory analytical techniques and protocols established by USEPA and NJDEP, inventory and order all necessary supplies, develop and record all quality control procedures to maintain the highest quality testing results, train operations personnel on retrieving and testing samples, and review current scientific literature to keep informed of new procedures, methods, materials, and findings in the Water and Wastewater fields.  Intermediate computer skills are required. In addition, the COO must have the ability to comprehend and analyze laws, rules and regulations relating to the conveyance, treatment and disposal of wastewater, have knowledge in the financing of capital projects, and be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with representatives of regulatory authorities and industrial, civic and other organizations interested in or involved with wastewater conveyance, treatment and disposal.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, sanitary or chemical engineering required.  Master’s degree in civil, environmental, sanitary or chemical engineering desired.

Experience:  Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the operation of a large, municipal activated sludge treatment plant, five (5) years of which shall have been in a responsible supervisory capacity.

License and Certifications: S4 Public Wastewater Treatment System and C4 Collection System Licenses issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection are preferred.  Professional Engineering License in the State of New Jersey is also preferred.

Regulations dealing with all aspects of wastewater conveyance, treatment and disposal; including, but not limited to, surface water discharges, residuals disposal and air emissions.  The Plant Superintendent must be able to plan, organize, develop and direct various activities dealing with wastewater conveyance, treatment and disposal, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be able to prepare clear, sound, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations. In addition, the Plant Superintendent must have the ability to comprehend and analyze laws, rules and regulations relating to the conveyance, treatment and disposal of wastewater, have knowledge in the financing of capital projects, and be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with representatives of regulatory authorities and industrial, civic and other organizations interested in or involved with wastewater conveyance, treatment and disposal.

Education:  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in civil, environmental, sanitary or chemical engineering, environmental science, biology or chemistry.  Master’s degree in civil, environmental, sanitary or chemical engineering is preferred.

Experience:  Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the operation of a large, municipal activated sludge treatment plant, five (5) years of which shall have been in a responsible supervisory capacity.

License and Certifications: S4 Public Wastewater Treatment System License issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is required.  C4 Collection Systems License issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is preferred.

Water Distribution System Licensed Operator (10-8-19)

Executive Director (9-16-19)

The Plumsted Utilities Authority (PMUA) is seeking a highly qualified individual to oversee general overall supervision and direction of the Authority. Ideal candidate should possess solid business management experience and/ or college degree in disciplines related to the business of the Authority with at least 10 years progressively responsible experience.

The Director exercises full authority, management and control of the day-to-day operations of the PMUA.  The PMUA is currently in construction of a wastewater collection system and treatment plant to serve 300,000 GPD with an expected startup in January of 2021.  The PMUA also operates a trash and recycling program and manages an Energy Aggregation Program for Township Residents.

The ability to interact with the public is an important quality the PMUA is looking for in a candidate.  Outstanding leadership and communication skills are required, as is an understanding of the technical aspects of wastewater utility management.

The Director is also responsible for emergency response planning, long and short term fiscal and capital improvement planning, along with the oversight of the Authority’s budgeting, procurement, and contracting processes.  Other duties include conducting monthly meetings for the Board of Commissioners, coordination with all of the Authority’s contracted professionals, reviewing and providing comment on proposed or amended legislation or regulation impacting the Authority, maintaining effective working relationships with state, county and local governmental agencies.

Geographic Information System Specialist (9-4-19)

The Ocean County Utilities Authority is seeking a Geographic Information System Specialist in the Information Services Department to coordinate the day-to-day operation of an ESRI ArcGIS Server Geographic Information System (GIS).  The Authority GIS is used to track the maintenance assets for a collection system that includes approximately 200 miles of pipelines with manholes, 40 pump stations, 80 meter chambers, three Ocean outfalls, and over 1500 property records.  Responsibilities include GIS system administration, software update/patch application, feature attribute entry/maintenance, creation of maps, GIS web site maintenance, administration of a variety of GIS coverages, management of digital orthophotography, support of GPS field data collection, and help desk support for GIS end-users. The Geographic Information System Specialist also provides end-user support for all commonly used application software used throughout the Authority.

The Electrician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all Authority electrical machinery and equipment.  This includes emergency generators, transformers, distribution system, lightning protection, electronic equipment, motors, etc.

The candidate must have completed an accredited Electrical training program with at least four (4) years of journeyworker level experience, three (3) of which must include performing the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of large industrial electrical equipment, transformers, motor control centers, distribution systems, and other electrical devices similar to those used in wastewater treatment facilities.  Basic knowledge of electronic control devices, such as variable frequency drives, is preferred. Must hold a Certificate of Registration to Practice as a Qualified Journeyman Electrician issued by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors.

Administrator Position (7-25-19)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Journeyman is responsible for the overhaul, installation and maintenance and repair of the Authority’s mechanical equipment under the supervision of the Mechanic.
  • The duties of the Journeyman shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  2. Must have as a minimum an C-1, and preferably a S-1 license and be working towards an C-2 and preferably S-2 licensing
  3. Must be working towards and have achieved a minimum of 60% of the Related Instruction requirements of the “Certified Wastewater Maintenance” program.

This classification is distinguished from all other Support System classifications by the level of responsibility and the handling of complex issues that require advanced expertise.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the Authority’s machinery, control equipment and vehicles, with extremely limited supervision. Persons filling this position are assumed to be proficient in the positions, duties and responsibilities and to be developing or refining individual skill sets in anticipation of potential upward career mobility as a Leader should position vacancies develop. The duties of the Mechanic shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Visually inspect all equipment to determine irregularities, malfunctions, deterioration or obsolescence of same and report to the Department Head/ Leader
  • Repair, maintain, install and overhaul all mechanical equipment Instruct other relevant Authority staff on all aspects of the department in terms of policies, standard operating and maintenance procedures, and safety as assigned
  • Maintain supporting tool and equipment inventories and report needed spare parts and equipment to the Department Head/ Leader
  • Perform all preventative maintenance as outlined in manufacturer’s O&M Manuals, CMMP’s etc.
  • Responsible for tracking and logging work order data in CMMP
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures when working on equipment
  • Responsible for electrical repairs and connecting and disconnecting electrical equipment Responsible for all piping and other plumbing repairs as required with decreasing supervision over time in grade
  • Operate, Control and Maintain the Authorities Conveyance and Collection System

Qualifications:
This is a position where employees are expected to be continually self-developing and gaining knowledge and skill sets from the Leader and management.
1. Minimum of five years’ experience on pumps and/or related machinery and equipment, or in the alternative, minimum of four (4) years’ experience with SMRSA as a Journeyman I, or equivalent experience.

4. Must be able to read blueprints

Position Requirements:

Candidates for the position must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental sciences, engineering, public administration or a related field. The Executive Director/Board may, at its’ discretion, wave this requirement for an otherwise qualified, licensed candidate. In addition to the education requirements, the successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the water utility field three of which must have been spent in a supervisory capacity. Laboratory Analyst (4-1-19)

Basic Functions: Performs chemical, physical and microbiological analyses on samples of industrial wastewater, plant influent, partially treated wastewater, sludge, effluent stream water samples and other samples as required, according to EPA and Standard Method Protocols.  Operates and maintains instruments and equipment required for analytical work.  Prepares chemical and microbiological media and test solutions used in the laboratory.  Performs calculations on results of laboratory and field data.  Enters data into laboratory LIMS system.  Performs and maintains records of QA/QC procedures.  Performs custodial duties in the laboratory including, but not limited to, the washing of laboratory glassware.  Performs daily plant sampling as well as some field sampling.  Works under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager or the Assistant Laboratory Manager as directed.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and 0-1 year applicable environmental laboratory experience; or an Associates (AA) degree in chemistry, biology, or environmental science, and 3 years applicable environmental laboratory experience; or 5 years applicable environmental laboratory experience.

Senior Construction Inspector (3/27/19)

Maintenance Supervisor (3/11/19)

Annual Salary Range: $69,000 – $115,000 – dependent on experience. Will have direct responsible charge of all the Authority’s maintenance personnel. Oversees maintenance activities, in-house fabrication and construction. Responsible for operational maintenance activities for all pump stations, metering stations, force mains, gravity interceptors and a new digester.

Oversees and schedules all preventive and corrective maintenance. Responsible for maintaining very accurate maintenance records for all of the Authority’s mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and notifying the manager of operations of all major maintenance problems. Responsible for maintenance training on all of the Authority’s equipment, including troubleshooting equipment problems. Prepares annual maintenance budget and submits to the Manager of Operations for review and approval. Reviews all maintenance records annually for the purpose of recommending changes in maintenance procedures or replacement of equipment to reduce O&M costs. Oversees inventory control to insure that we have the proper tools and spare parts to facilitate repairs. Selects and specifies suitable packing, seals, gaskets, greases, lubricants, filters, etc.

Must be available at all times to respond to plant emergencies. Responsible for the safety of all maintenance personnel including compliance with PEOSHA, lockout, and confine space entry requirements. Responsible for preparing specific reports on maintenance failures as required by the assistant manager of operations or the manager of operations.

Under direction of System Superintendent or Supervisor, supervises, directs and works with a group of employees engaged in inspection, cleaning, construction, maintenance, and repair of sanitary sewers, pump stations, wet wells, tanks and other facilities; performs other related duties as required. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Supervises, directs, or works independently, or with a group or individual employees engaged in: Inspection of Sewers, responding to citizen complaints and issues, cleaning sewers, manholes, catch basins, pump stations, wet wells, tanks, drainage facilities and other facilities. Repair broken sewer lines and other components in the Collection System. Replace worn, damaged or broken parts. Install new sewer pipes and appurtenances. Prepare and maintains records of attendance, time spent, and work completed. Reports to System Superintendent or Supervisor problems or issues discovered with recommended plan of action. Reviews plans, specification and O&M Manuals and instructions. Prepare requisitions for purchase of equipment, tools and materials and tracks delivery. Makes recommendations to supervisor and management concerning disciplinary measures, promotions and appointments of employees.

Proficiency in the use of various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the Sewer Utility. This includes computers, laptops, tables and smart phones.

EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of experience in cleaning, inspection, installation and/or repair work found in a sewage collection system and the operation and maintenance of sewer maintenance vehicles and equipment.

LICENSE: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and applicable endorsements for the class and type of vehicle being operated. Valid NJDEP C-3 Collection System Operator’s License.

RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of problems commonly found and occurring in Sewage Collection Systems, and proficiency in the procedures and methods used in inspecting, cleaning, constructing, maintaining, repairing of sewers and those problems commonly found and occurring in Sewage Collection Systems. Knowledge and experience in the use of varied equipment, materials, and supplies used in these processes. Knowledge of complex mechanical and manual operations. Knowledge of methods of caring for, proper use of and maintenance of vehicles, equipment and materials used in the cleaning, inspection, maintaining, and repairing sewers.

Ability to analyze problems in a sewage collection system, develop a corrective action plan, organize work to implement the plan or work assigned and develop effective work methods. Efficient supervision of subordinates, providing them with advice, instruction, directives and assistance, and evaluate their work performance. Comply with Township, OSHA, and industry health and safety methods and procedures, and ensure all employees also comply. Ensures that quality standards and productivity are maintained and work objectives are met.

Must obtain, store, and safeguard equipment, materials, and supplies. Preparation and maintenance of records of attendance, time spent, work completed, and manpower, equipment and supplies used. Prepare Township forms related to personnel actions. Utilization of various types of electronic and/or manual recording, investigative, and information systems used by the Sewer Utility.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor (4/27/18)

The Mount Laurel Township Municipal Utilities Authority (MLTMUA) is currently looking for qualified candidates to perform the duties of licensed operator to supervise the operation of its Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).  The successful candidate will be required to plan, organize and coordinate the operation and maintenance activities of the MLTMUA‘s WWTP; ensure requirements and permits are in compliance with local, state and federal agencies; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; is responsible for planning and scheduling the work of assigned staff; implementing the WWTP’s safety program, nurturing a culture of “Team Work”; implementing programs, policies and procedures that create efficient operations and fiscal responsibility. Additional responsibilities include: oversight of the plant asset management program utilizing the established computerized management system and assist with the development and management of capital projects. This position will also assist the Operations Director and Executive Director in developing and monitoring all aspects of facility operation and reporting.  They will also work closely with the Wastewater Collection Supervisor and when required will perform the duties of the Wastewater Collection Supervisor during their absence.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in wastewater treatment plant operations that includes licensed operator responsibilities; preferably in a municipal or public-sector environment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

  • State of New Jersey Driver’s License
  • State of NJ Class III Wastewater Operator License upon hire.
  • State of NJ Class IV Wastewater Collection License or ability to obtain Class IV within 1 year from hire date.
  • Other certifications/licenses may be required within a specified period of time after hire.

Collection System/Maintenance Supervisor  (4/20/18)
