There
are three types of AEA
members:
Regular
Members are environmental authorities. The authority
pays an annual membership fee based on the operating
budget of the authority minus the debt service amount.
All commissioners and managers and staff may attend
AEA conferences at the member rate. All commissioners
will have newsletters mailed to their homes. Single
copies of monthly updates, special informational
faxes and master copies of publications of the association
are mailed, emailed or faxed to the authority Executive Director for
distribution to other appropriate individuals.

Associate
Members are companies that serve authorities
with goods or services needed to operate the facilities
or to comply with laws and regulations.
Each member of the company is a
member of AEA. The company
identifies two contact representatives, who will
receive the mailings and newsletters.
Additional company members may be
placed on the email and e-faxing list. All members
of the company may attend AEA conferences at the
member rate and serve on AEA
committees.

Municipal
Members are the superintendents of publicly
owned water or wastewater facilities who share similar
challenges with authority managers. The municipality
joins for the superintendent and dues are the lowest
authority rate.

Continuing education credits for
operations licenses may be earned by attending AEA
conferences.
March and November, 2-day meetings in Atlantic City
One day specialty conferences in January, June and

generates its revenue from dues, conference registrations,
advertising and sponsorships. A staff of three full
time employees and a government relations firm
work to provide the
services identified above.
