Authorities
and municipal utilities are at the forefront of efforts to ensure a clean and
healthy environment in New Jersey. Since 1971,
the Association of Environmental Authorities has been
an advocate for our regular and
municipal members who provide
drinking water to tens of thousands of New Jerseyans
everyday,
treat more than 1 billion gallons of wastewater
everyday, recycle thousands of
tons of recyclables and
dispose millions of tons of solid waste.
Members rely on AEA to accomplish
what they can't commit sufficient time or resources to:
-
Testify at Legislative Committee Hearings on proposed
legislation.
-
Attend regulatory briefings on proposed rule changes.
-
Hire technical experts to write rule comments.
-
Hire full time, professional government affairs
representatives.
-
Serve as designated industry representatives on state
advisory committees.
AEA focuses
on state issues that affect the way members operate
in New Jersey. There are many
resourceful national water organizations, but they do
not focus attention on NJ regulations and laws as AEA
does.
AEA
also serves Associate Member professionals who support
utility managers in their mission. While AEA meetings,
workshops, publications and other activities are
designed to inform authority commissioners, regular and
municipal member managers and their support staff, they
also invariably provide excellent networking and
educational experiences for associate professionals.
Advertising and exhibiting opportunities provide a way
for suppliers and professionals to showcase their
products and services.

AEA
members are an active bunch. They are
talented professionals with important
operational responsibilities. They are constantly
looking for better and more efficient ways to manage
utilities.
They
join AEA because the organizational focus is on
management of environmental facilities in New Jersey.
AEA
provides a perspective of nearly 38 years of
legislative and regulatory
experience in New Jersey matters.
Our members know that is something they can't find anywhere
else.
Managers and commissioners of authorities and municipal
utilities operating in New Jersey need a professional
association that looks at legislation, regulation, news
and events happening in their back yards. They also look
for a credible voice that will be heard in the State
House and at the Department of Environmental Protection.
A voice of sound science, reasonableness and commitment
to public service.
That voice is AEA.
