Peter Galetto, Sr.
Landis Sewerage Authority
Peter Galetto, Sr. has been
a commissioner at the Landis Sewerage Authority since 1988
and a member of AEA since that time and has been attending
AEA spring and fall conferences continuously for the last
twelve years He has served as Chairman of the Landis
Sewerage Authority since February 2000.
Mr. Galetto brings almost
sixty years of construction experience to the Landis
Authority. He was actively involved during the
Authority’s expansion to an advanced wastewater treatment
plant with land application of effluent and biosolids
since late 1980’s. He also brings his sixty year
knowledge of farming to the authority which has helped
guide the operation of the biosolids farm. Mr. Galetto
has also been involved with many of the Authority’s
construction projects throughout the years. He has helped
negotiate with our design engineering firms.
Mr.
Galetto is most noted for his philanthropy in the
Vineland area, as well as his business acumen which was
developed from starting and founding a construction
company in 1946. He has been active in many charitable
organizations in the greater Vineland area serving on the
Newcomb Hospital Foundation Board and serving as the past
chairman of the Vineland Y.M.C.A. Capital Expansion
Campaign. He has also received the Gregor Mendel Award
from St. Augustine Prep and Italian American Club Man of
the Year Award. In 2004 he was named as the
Philanthropist of the Year by the Vineland Library
Foundation. In 1996 he was named Vineland Citizen of the
Year by the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce. He was
also honored in 1994 by the Hendricks House for
Distinguished Service Award. He has established the
Galetto Family Foundation that has supported many
charitable organizations in the county.

Outstanding Commissioner
Steven Philips
East Brunswick SA
Steven Philips
has been a Commissioner of the East Brunswick Sewerage
Authority for seven years. Mr. Philips is a dedicated
Commissioner who takes an active role in all facets of
Authority operations and whose attendance records at
Authority meetings and events is exemplary. He has acted
in the capacity of Vice-Chairman and Acting Chairman
during his tenure. Mr. Philips attends AEA conferences and
meetings regularly to further his understanding of
authority issues.
Commissioner
Philips chairs the Authority Budget Committee. While he is
diligent about the needs of the Authority, he encourages
fiscal responsibility in order to protect the rate payers.
As a result of his efforts, EBSA has been able to minimize
rate increases and maintains a low $60 per quarter
residential sewer service charge. Commissioner Philips has
also helped establish a long-term plan for upgrading the
Authority's twenty-two pump stations, along with the means
to finance those upgrades.
During an
extended illness of the Authority's long-time Chairman,
Vice-Chairman Philips selflessly performed the
responsibilities of the office of the Chairman while at
times, preserving and honoring the incapacitate Chairman
and his office.
In addition to
performing the duties of Chairman, Commissioner Philips,
as Chairman of the Personnel Committee, had the added
responsibility of guiding the Authority through the
process of hiring a replacement for the Authority's
Executive Director who was retiring. He dedicated many
hours to this project insuring that the process was
carried out to the Board's satisfaction.
Mr. Philips is
the Chairman of the East Brunswick Zoning Board of
Adjustment and provides a valuable link between the
Sewerage Authority and the Municipality.
