Each year, AEA presents informative workshops and conferences, offering information on a wide variety of topics related to the leadership and management of publicly owned water/wastewater/solid waste/recycling agencies. The presenters are experts and industry professionals, and their presentations help AEA members and non-members who attend stay on top of vital issues and developments. Most AEA workshops qualify for continuing education credits.

Presenter:

Jim Cosgrove, principal at Omni Environmental LLC., which is a Associate Member of AEA. Jim  is a founding principal of Omni and a recognized expert in the fields of water quality modeling; wastewater, watershed, and stormwater management; and litigation support. He has 25 years of experience as an environmental engineer and consultant. Mr. Cosgrove's expertise in NPDES permit support, stormwater analysis, water quality studies, and watershed management, have led to a reputation of excellence in working with regulators, providing expert testimony and developing innovative, effective and cost-effective solutions. Mr. Cosgrove is a registered professional engineer in the state of New Jersey.

Joseph C. Nuzzo, Esq., Day Pitney LLC. Mr. Nuzzo represents management in a wide variety of employment-related disputes, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation lawsuits brought in state and federal courts and administrative charges filed with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and analogous state agencies. Presenters:

Thomas J. Lauletta currently serves as Vice President of Wastewater at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority, a position he has held since 2004. Mr. Lauletta is responsible for all of the wastewater activities of the Authority.Mr. Lauletta has over 35 years experience in the field and holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Drexel University. Mr. Lauletta is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Licensed Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and a Certified Municipal Engineer in New Jersey. Previously, Mr. Lauletta served as Vice President of Perks Reutter Associates, a Civil Engineering Consulting firm where he was responsible for the day to day operations for all civil/sanitary design, planning, facility assessment and construction management projects. Prior to Mr. Lauletta's consulting experience, he worked for the Philadelphia Water Department. Mr. Lauletta is an active member in the Water Environment Federation, the New Jersey Water Environment Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Chi Epsilon, and the New Jersey Association of Environmental Authorities. Mr. Lauletta has served as an instructor of NJDEP certified Water and Wastewater courses at Atlantic County College and Gloucester County College and has served as a consultant to the City of Philadelphia and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago evaluating and testing engineering and wastewater treatment plant operating personnel.

Fletcher N. Platt Jr. PE PP BCEE is the executive director at Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority. He has a BSCE from the University of Vermont, is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is certified as a professional planner in New Jersey. Other credentials include: AAEE Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water & Wastewater. Fletch has been involved with the AEA for 35 years, served as a Board Member, served on many committees and received the Associate Member of the Year Award.Before joining RVRSA, Fletch provided water supply, wastewater treatment and storm drainage control Consulting Engineering services to Authorities, Counties and Municipalities in New Jersey from 1968 to 2008. Fletch is currently a Board Member of the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority. He served as the interim Executive Director of the Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority from September 2010 to March 2011, in his home town of Long Valley, NJ.

Francis Bonaccorso is the Assistant Superintendent at the Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties in Elizabeth NJ. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Seton Hall University and served as an Operations and Maintenance Specialist at Camp Dresser and McKee, a Technical Manager at Schoor DePalma and the Assistant Superintendent of the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority. He is an S-4 Licensed Wastewater Operator and holds certifications in Adult Continuing Education and Environmental Training from the National Environmental Training Association and is an approved NJDEP course instructor and Certified Substitute Teacher for the NJ Department of Education. He has taught Water and Wastewater Treatment classes for the certification of operators since 1999
